I have been thinking of vibration proofing my fuel line at the P Clip on the passenger side of the engine.
After doing a search and trying to get my old brain awake, I went on a hunting expedition.
Digging around in front of the spider and I can't find a clip, except behind the cooler pipe going to the turbo.
It appears to be at the very back of the head.
My question is, are there 2 clamps or just one?
I have a late build 2002 build truck, if that makes any difference.
I saw Guzzles old picture of one in front of the spider.
Any help or idea's appreciated.
there is just one. its between the spider and the turbo. 13mm box end wrench. disconnect cac tube on that side and you will have enough room. 9/16 open end wrench on the compression fittings. the picture your talking about is a little misleading.
Thanks to everyone for replying.
I was under the impression from my reading and searching, that the clip was where you all say it is. But I have not found it there.
I can see one, however on what appears to be the rear bolt on the VC behind the Aftercooler tube.
Thanks Payson for the Link.
I will try to dig deeper soon. It is 26 deg here this A.M. and I have to do it outside.
I am not the original owner, but nothing was mentioned in the Oasis. I bought the truck with 120,000 miles and the original owner had had it serviced at the dealer.
Again Thanks.
That fuel line will vibrate and/or rub without it. The clamp is there to secure it. Bad design of clamp but easily corrected with a small piece of rubber tubing.
I'll have a Picture, and will try to post soon. Battery went dead on camera.
Mine seems to be farther back than I had thought from previous links and looks on here.
Appears to have some oily residue around it. May be from earlier leaks.
Any way, it does not appear too hard to get to. Take the after cooler tube out, and I should be right there.
Ok Guys: I want to thank everyone again for all the help.
I decided this A.M. to have another look and get started checking this thing out. 1 hour and 45 later I had the job done and all my tools back in the shop.
It was 25 deg when I started, but I didn't get too cold.
My P clamp was dipped in a plastic type material, and only had one small bare spot on the inside, along one edge.
I maybe could feel a little roughness on the fuel line, but not much.
I took the Cold air pipe loose at the top and one clamp off at the bottom. Slide the pipe forward and twisted the top ell end back toward me.
This gave me enough room to get in there and get the clamp off.
Thanks again and a "HAPPY NEW YEAR"
