Exclamation Fuel pouring out

Hi everyone brand new here,
So I recently inherent a 1999 power stroke f350 and drove it from Missouri to Chicago to help me move cites
No problems at all until we go to our new home. We pulled on a slope drive way with a small pitch to it and noticed that we smelled fuel as soon as we stopped the engine. Didn't think anything of it.. About 3 hours later I started it up and it started pouring out gas from the back side of engine I mean really coming out. Also I felt some resistance in the power steering the would come and go as soon as this happened but it eventually came back to normal. I know nothing about these engines as im a novice at best that I only know a few things but I know my way a bit around engines. What should I look for??l

Get a good light and a pad to flop on top of the engine. Look down in the valley on the passenger side of the turbo. There is a fuel line that runs from the fuel bowl in front to a port on the rear of the PS head. Approx near the turbo it is supported by a clamp. Over time this can wear a hole in the fuel line due to vibration.

Also look at the back of the fuel bowl. The yellow drain lever can leak pretty good if the o rings are done.

Welcome to FTE!

Welcome to the best place to get help. How many miles on the truck?

2 places come to mind to look for your leak. The passenger side inside the valley is a fuel line that runs from the back top of the engine along the passenger side valve cover to the fuel bowl in the front top of the engine. That line is held on with a metal clamp that will chaff a hole in the line and fuel will run out the back top of the engine. The other place is the fuel bowl itself and the seals are shot on it and it would require a rebuild. Very easy to do and you can get all the parts from wwwriffraffdiesel.com. very common for the fuel bowl to leak and somewhat common for the fuel line to get a hole in it if it isn't caught early to put a rubber hose around the line where the clamp holds it.

These guys have you lined up.
In the photo above, item 22 is you fuel bowl. The line they are talking about comes out on the left side in the photo under item 11. One of those lines goes to the front of the drivers side head, the other to the rear of the passenger side head. Your problem is most likely the line on the passenger side. I know it looks like it is buried and intimidating to repair. It's not as bad as it looks. Just 5 hose clamps, a couple wires, and item 1 (intake spider) comes out of your way with no fluid loss. From there you should be able to get it without much difficulty. If you run into trouble or have a question, come back and ask.

When you get-er-done, come back and let us know and share your experience.
