Just did my H-pop hoses O-RINGS thanks Guzzles. while finishing up the cleaning I noticed that the skinny steel line that runs behind the bowl over to the front of drivers side head (fuel rail I assume) is loose to the touch (weebley wobbly).
This is the tube that appears to have a brass fitting on the end connected to the head. How serious is this or is it?? the tube seems to be loose in the nut but seems I cant get to the nut without rermoving the hu-normous structure that the alt and PS pump are mounted on.
If there is anouther way somebody please tell me.
Any hints??
Also just recieved all new boots (6)(red like my truck thanks Clay!) Don't want to tear into it twice again.
The Vibralok fittings are designed to allow some movement .. that is the reason that International choose these fittings. Some movement is normal and if the fittings are not leaking, I would not mess with it. If it begins to seep at some point, address it then.
The drivers side fitting can be reached without removing everything. It is a tight area to work on and some long wrenches help but the fittings do not require high torque so it is not difficult to break the compression fitting loose.
Thanks Guzzle, thats the answer I was unknowingly hoping for.
Never heard of such a thing -Vibro lok- but am happy it is and can go ahead with our camping trip this weekend without worrying.
and again thanks for the o-rings (HPOP)and specially the instructions No more leaks!! Your kit should be a pre requisit to ownig a 7.3.
