Okay folks, here we go. First , I am going to take it to a shop and have it checked out. Unttil then, everything is speculation. Then, as soon as I get the extra money ,I plan to change the oil and filter. And flush the transmission and converter out, with the cheapest fluid I can find. Then change the filter and refill it. That is if the tranny doesn't need a rebuild. I can have the transmission and converter rebuilt locally, for $1895. With a 3 year unlimited mile warranty. It would take about 3 days for that. Or the same shop, will install another remanufactured unit in it in one day. At a cost of $2900.With a 3yr unlimited mile warranty. As a last resort, Huffhines Dodge will allow me $5000 toward the purchase of a 2013 Dodge 2500. Priced at &47,600
I get payed every two weeks. Get a check next Friday. As for the new truck, they offerred me financing at 5.9 % interest for 72 months. I am trying to avoid another $700 monthly car note. But that.may be my best option. I am not much on having to work on old cars . Had this transmission problem surfaced when I first looked at the truck, I would have never bought it. But as I said, if it is cold the truck shifts fine. And it has been cold here, the last few days. In addition though, I don't want to waste $300 flushing the transmission, if it needs a rebuild. Or if I am trading the truck.
