Hey this is the first thread ive posted.
Sometimes when i start the truck there is no response when i hit the gas. After i hit the peddle a few times it will start responding. i dont know what the problem is but if i could get a few pointers on what to check that would be great. By the way the truck is a 2001 F250 7.3 liter.
Thanks Daniel

Welcome to FTE Daniel! It sounds like the TPS or IVS (Throttle Position Sensor OR Idle Validation Switch) is either dirty or needs replacing. Read this thread for more info and here is another.
when you very first cold start your truck you say?
how many miles on your truck?
there may not be anything wrong other than age taking its toll on your high pressure oil system. the system is designed to protect itself... in many cases, the wonder that is under our hoods will prevent you from pushing the envelope until conditions are met for you to safely do so. oil temperature is one of those variables.
when it is really cold out... Motorbug will do the same thing until she warms up for about 15 seconds or so. if your truck does it when warm... then definitely look into throttle position sensor/ivs.
what oil you running?
how many miles on it?
does it smoke when you first start up?
smoke when you floor it in park/neutral?
Good point Chris. It depends on if there is "no" response, or "slow/sluggish" response. When I get in a cold truck when it's say below 40, and try to take off for the first time (not idling down the driveway or slowly getting up to speed, but pulling on to the highway) there's almost no response for 2-3 seconds, then it "spools up" so to speak and takes off.
