Nah remote starter is nice feature. It helps during winter warming up truck and defrost your windshield while you are inside the house. I'm sure it would work but not positive (i don't know if it works on 80s vechile)

My dad use it on his 2006 F250 and you can't drive off without key inside the ignition. Once you step the brake without key, it shut off.

your truck has to be automatic. they won't install it if it's manual for safety reason but im sure u can find someone to bypass it and if your truck manual, make sure the gear is in nuetural and parking brake applied.

I've installed a few of these brand starters.
Model RS1200B Remote Starter with Keyless Entry and Trunk Release

Had on in my '95, then put one in my '89. If you have door locks, you can also have a button to release them too(mine does). Makes it convienent.

Yes, the remote start wires into your brake pedal. If you hit the brakes without having the key in the ignition, it shuts off. The older trucks don't have brake pedal interlock, but if someone did try to steal the truck, first they couldn't steer it due to the wheel being locked. Then if they did, as soon as they hit the brakes, the truck would shut off. I've forgotten to put key in and tapped brake pedal before> Ooops.

They are pretty simple with the older trucks also> Few hours and you're ready to go. The power door locks takes a bit longer if you add them.

sweet thanks for the advice , also i have another question my truck has a set of 40" Mickey Thompsons under it and they probably have 30% tred but i tried to head to work this morning and there was about 4 inched of snow on the ground but once i got to the road which probably had half an inch on the road i slid all over the place would this be because of the tube tires and the weight of the truck i dunno why it sucks so much in the snow , plus my tires are down to 10 psi and are still bulging how do you read tube tires?

Weigh the back end with sand bags or something like that, make sure you use the correct psi for the tires and release about 10 lbs of air from the recommended psi level, if you just release air without checking the psi it can wear the tires dramatically and cause a swaying effect while the truck is in motion.
