After reading through the forums and forscan sheet I don't see where this has come up before. I have a 2018 XLT with Remote Start and I am hoping there is a way to keep the truck running and remove the key. Aftermarket Remote Start companies call this "Pit Stop Mode" and would be very useful here in the frozen north (ok its 50 degrees today but winter is coming sometime lol). I looked at the secure idle option but it looks to me that only works for pushbutton start. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

I haven't noticed that feature either but here's a thought? If you have the door keypad buttons can you lock the keys in the truck with it running use the keypad on the door then unlock when you return?
On my old Mercury Mariners I had for work vehicles years ago I removed the fob from the key and left the key in the ignition and used the fob to lock and unlock the doors. Obviously that wouldn't work today with the fob being made into the actual key.
The aftermarket pit stop system is very nice. My installer called it the coffee stop setting. Lol.
I will say the Police mode is a no go for me because there are times when my wife and I are together with only one fob. Wrong person gets out and you're screwed if you are dropping someone off at the door of the mall or whatever. I disable the double horn honk and the DIC reminder is nice letting me know I don't have the key so I know not to inadvertently shut down the engine. I wish there was a way to override the idle timeout without full police mode in forscan. I'll make a request for the pit stop mode as well. Never hurts to ask right?

I know what you are talking about. I've never seen a way to do this with the factory system, best you can do is just restart it with the remote as you walk away.
try this, when the truck is running with the key in it, try doing the start sequence. Wait a sec, then remove the key. Thats how my older astrostart worked. If not, shut off, remove key, walk away, hit that remote start before around the corner and she will be running when back. Also, 15 minute setting can be exapanded to 1/2 hour by restarting the remote once its running on the remote, it extends the run time to 30 minutes, but just shows 15 minutes in the dash section. I dont know for sure this will work, but its worth a try. Secure mode wont do what you want.
