Transmission Issues - Automatic

When my truck hits 4th or maybe 3rd, it changes hard and maybe a little too soon, the RPMs drop to about 1400 and the truck shakes. Once I give it more fuel and increase MPH and RPM, it smoothes out. Truck drives great except from about 42-54 MPH. Was checking the engine today and noticed a lot of oil around the ICP sensor. Guess I'll need to replace that, but can it cause the problems I'm having? SES came on when issue began with truck shaking. Thanks all.

You need to get the codes read. Without codes nobody knows what's wrong, but many people will guess. Don't take it to an auto parts store, they can't read the codes.

Ok, scanned with AE. Pulled codes P1211 and P1316. I had ran the truck with the ICP sensor unplugged the day before the scan. I cleared the codes, ran the truck. Scanned again and this time got just one code, P1316. The ICP sensor and area around it are covered in oil. I pulled the valve covers off this past weekend and the UVCH was fine on both sides. Did .50 Mod anyway. Got everything back together and nothing has changed. I also changed the fuel filter this weekend. I was trying to pay attention to how it shifts today while driving, and I'm thinking the issue may not be transmission related at all now. It seems like the engine is a little bogged down, not getting enough fuel or something. As soon as it starts to shake, I give it some more throttle, it sometimes changes gears but it always smoothes itself out.

I have heard of a few of the guys here cleaning out the EBPV tube and it helped smooth out the shifting.

do a buzz test and a cct "cylinder contrabution" on board test. you could be having injector issues.

Not my scanner, a fellow FTE member helped me out by meeting me and scanning it for me. We tried to do a buzz test but for some reason the AE software kept defaulting to a different vehicle and wouldn't let him do it. Not sure how long it will be before I can try another. Maybe Santa should bring me a scanner for Christmas.
