Having trouble using AE

I've used AE several times before and today after plugging it in to my truck, it displays a message that it's unable to communicate with Com Port 1. I have AE on the same configuration I always do. Does that mean an issue with my truck or AE?

Hello Drake.

Make sure the cig lighter has power (not the power point). OBDII port is the same fuse. Should be #3 under dash.

Pin 16 on the port should have 12 volts.
