i don't think he is doing the rental program anymore since members treated the timing meters like trash, wouldn't ship the meter on to the next customer on time, would communicate with anybody. a whole slew of problems caused by the users.

Too bad. I need to check/adjust my timing as well. Guess I will have to look into buying a setup.

i might suggest we start a thread here with people who have a meter and would be willing to allow LOCAL members to use it. i ordered one last week, and it should be here in time for christmas. but i'm in WA and you're in ontario... but someone may have one near you...

Do you have the make/model of the right meter handy? Did you just get the timing light with it?

its the ferret timing adapter, clips over an injector line and reads the pulse, then sends that signal to your timing light. i bought a new timing light at the same time

Two seventy sounds high. I think I paid a little over two hundred for mine. I got it here.

Any inductive timing light will work, but is much easier with one that has timing advance and an RPM readout. Make sure you clean the fuel line to bare metal. It makes a big difference in how well the piezo clamp pick-up works. Here is a video of how it works.

Good luck,

Mac.

FWIW, the one you linked to is for the 6mm fuel line, not our 1/4" fuel line - but the tips are interchangeable, or you may have just linked to the wrong one. in any case, you found a much better deal than i did - i should have asked around here before i ordered it. other places i saw online wanted upwards of 300
