Buy a straight-up timing set, or if buying an OEM timing set be sure to ask for one for a pre '72 FE, post '72 timing sets are retarded 4 degrees.

It's a good price but i've never ran a Summit brand timing set, so i really can't say.

I'm running a Cloyes timing set on my FE, over 8yrs now without any issues.

I have the Summit brand on one of my engines for years now without any issue. I'm sure they have a quality set branded with their name.

Cloyes is cheap and reliable. I've never had an issue and will be available at ur local auto parts store and not have to wait a week to get from summit

Depends which ones you're comparing, some are all steel sets, some are all billet steel sets, and others are a combination of steel/billet steel sets.

If you compare the cloys true roller to summits true roller, like you said the difference being different types of metal..Ill go with summit steel since the price is right. I appreciate the input fellas I'm going to get started.
