i am doing the planing at the moment on a 78 F150 2WD 300i6 rebuild. i want to go daily driver and am wondering if anyone knows of cruise controll setups that can be modified to work on the ol 78. i know that there was a factory available setup but the one truck i have seen it in the guy was having a hell of a time keeping it working. i know most of the early 90's vehilcles were throttle body injected and still used a vacume operated setup whitch i believe would work but i am just wondering if someone had already done something like this and saved me the trouble of starting from scratch.
I have what appears to be a dealer installed aftermarket cruise control system on a 79 parts Bronco. It has the controller attached to the turning signal lever.
i put a Rostra electronic cruise on my 78 300, works great and the stalk replaces the turn signal lever. Around $200 though. Rostra 250-1223 I think it was.
Anyone have more information on the Rostra? I'm gonna be installing one soon and just want some more info on these kits and how well they work for dent sides. like how does it install with the speedo cable and what not.
