Coil problem

My wifes 3V mountaineer has had a bad miss for a long time now. It seems fine until around 40-60 mph where it bucks and misses bad. I replaced all the plugs and it went away for a while but its back again. So far Ive replaced 3 of the coils with the accel coils but its just a shot in the dark really. Can you guys tell me an easy way to check the coils or cylinder to see which one is truly the culprit?

If it bucks and misses enough times it will set a MIL... or you could connect an OBDII scanner and check for PENDIN codes.... Philip

It bucks all th etime between 40-60 but no cel.

I doubt you have a coil issue, does the CEL illuminate when you first turn ignition on (no start)....... Philip

I believe it comes on then goes off like its supposed to.

Bucking under load is more often an issue with a sensor such as the MAF. Clean it with MAF sensor cleaner and see if it doesn't improve. Do yourself a favor and replace the POS Accel coils with Motorcraft.

Really? The accel coils are junk? That sucks. Spent like $120 on 3 of them so far.

Sorry but what do you mean by that? I dont have a cel so Im not sure on the problem.

Miss-fire/bogging under load can manifest under many circumstances...

I suggest connecting a LIVE DATA SCANNER.
Check for pending codes,
then record the values for MAF, O2, LTFT, ECT.
Verify correct fuel pressure,
