It always amazes me how hard many of the things y'all commonly do and just say...I did that a half hour ago...So I installed 2002 2004 after market headlights. What a Beech! Tried Springer Pop's method...no cookie...tried the book method...it worked, but, well...the book said take the two upper retainers off and the one lower...three hours later, I got the first one off. After learning the trick, 15 minutes later, I got the other side off. Most of the jobs on this truck have been like that. Like to kill myself the first go around...gets a little easier the next time. Well, just had to beech a little...
I did this a few weeks ago, and didn't see the need to do any type of write-up as they were basically remove and replace in the same locations. Trying to remember back, I don't recall running into any issues either...
Anyway, got pics? Are you using regular bulbs or did you go with upgraded harnesses and 80/100 watt bulbs.
Just regular bulbs...you're probably a lot quicker than I, Al...I had to figure out how to pull the top clips off...took forever...and wrestle with several tools to get that bottom thingy-jiggy out. Once I got a routine...it was much easier. Didn't take pics...guess I'm kinda' backward that way, also.
The only clips I remember were the locks for the adjusters gear assembly, but I left the originals on and just ran the adjusters all the way out, then reinstalling them to run into the new assemblies.
I guess if you were installing new adjusters too, then unclipping the locks will allow them to pop out.
Oh well, glad you got it, should be noticeable light output.
Yeah, I tried that and ran it the wrong way and popped the ball out of the headlight! So, I went the other route, which, once I figured out how to do it [grab the locking tab with a bent sharpie and pull to the side and up] was easier to me. There wasn't anything too easy about getting the bottom thing out, but it got out.
