Hi everyone I am having problems with the blower on my truck. I can feel the air coming from vents no matter what setting on it. I think it maybe the blower itself as it was working and just quit. Is there a fuse for the blower that I can check? And I have the V6 4.2L 2 wheel drive
Sounds like a possible broken blend door which is a classic problem with our trucks. Do some research here on this forum about that and see if it sounds like the problem. IF that's your problem, good luck fixing it. It's a big job. Removal of the dashboard to do it right.
Blower fan Fuse #105-40amp in battery junction box. There is also a Blower Relay in aux relay box #4 behind center of dash. If you have HI speed only it's probably the blower motor resistor. Also check Fuse #5-15amp and Fuse #24-10amp in central junction box under left side of dash. As for air flow you have to check each outlet, floor-panel-defrost in each setting to see which has air coming out with fan on high. Vacuum leaks may be your problem as there are 3 other doors besides the (blend door being electrically operated), that are vacuum operated and they could be causing your problem or the heater control panels vacuum switch itself.
blend door is for temp control, not air flow. Read Lime1GT post.. Do you have air flow or not ? Floor, defrost ? Narrow down if the blower is not running, or the air is coming out the wrong louvers.
The Blower is not running. And the strange thing is it hasn't been blowing for about a week now and I get into truck last night to go home from work and as soon as I give it a lil gas it started working. And it is still working this morning.
I have a 1997 F150 4x4 5.4L engine. I am rather new to making my own repairs but recently replaced all ignition coils, plugs, and the blower motor. The motor went out a few weeks back and when I installed the new one it started right up. Runs on all four speeds but will not blow air through any vents, defrosters, not floor. From what I have read here in the postings across the board, it sounds like a vacuum leak? Am I correct? I have looked all through the engine and not seen nor heard nor felt any vacuum problems. Any advice from you guys would be a big help.
Thanks
M
