Ok guys, first major problem with the 2001 F250 SD. Got in it tonight after work, negative zero temps. No speeds on my fan, I can feel warm air seeping out of the vents, but no force behind it, dosent matter if its on defrost, vent, a/c, etc. Nothing at all. Checked the fuse in the truck, the one thats tied in with the passenger airbag cutoff switch, that one is good. Checked maxi fuse in power distrib panel, good as well. Owners manual says something about checking the circuit breaker fuse in power distrib panel, not sure how to get that one out, but Im doubtful that it would blow without a good reason. Anybody have any ideas on what to check, or what could be wrong? Thanks in advance for the ideas!!
Not sure if it is your blower motor or not, though I just replaced mine. it wasnt completely dead, making noise. The amount of carbon from the brushes that came out of it suggest to me that for the amount it revolves, six years isnt a bad life expectancy.
It doesnt take much to remove the blower motor, I had R&R my dash, then did the blower motor, around 15 minutes.
You know there is another breaker box in the engine compartment to check for the fuses. I have also read a post on the circuit controlling the speeds of the motor. If you think this is the problem, someone has posted pictures of it, a $15 part. it is right under your glove box, up under on the dash fram, you can see the wires going to the circuit board. There is some pictures posted on someone replacing it. if you need them, give me a shout.
