It turns out there are OEM ones on eBay and ones with screw-down retainers that look safer than the OEM. I kept the routing sleeve and loom and will be sure to re-route the cord the way the OEM was done. I'm also going to hit up the IH dealer and see what they have. Thank you for the safety reminders!
Edit: IH dealer has the replacement cord in stock - part number ZBL3600008, made by Zerostart - $30.01 out the door with tax.

I changed my element in an RV park several years ago. Got less than a cup come out of it.
Have a rag handy, quickly stuff it in the hole when the element comes out. Gives you plenty of time to go grab the new one, position it, pull rag out and start screwing it in.
You'll be surprised just how little will come out.
