My truck is making a consistant grunting noise that seems like it is right on the firewall or in the dash. I thought it would be a power steering pump problem. I flushed the old atf from the power steering pump and replaced with synthetic royal purple atf. I never had a squeel like people describe when their power steering pump is having issues. Changing the fluid didn't help my noise go away. When i get out of the truck and go under the hood I can not hear the same sound as while sitting in the driver's seat. There is a certain shakey vibration in the brake peddle and steering associated somehow with my porblem. What do you guys think hydroboost or power steering pump?
Ok upon really close observation I realized it got loudest when i let off the accelerator. I got my head down there and it is something to do with the gas pedal. When i let off it is vibrating and the firewall right next to it is vibrating. What is that about? I guess my problem probably has nothing to do with either power steerring or hydroboost.
Is it possible for that electric plug on the eccelerator to receive electrical feed back or something like that? Do our accelerators actually open the throttle or do they open by sending a signal based on throttle position?
