Power Steering Went out
I have A 2004 F250 that I bought about two months ago. Everything worked fine on it up until a couple weeks ago when the power steering started going out when i would be making left turns at slow speeds. It never would go out any other time. Last night on my way home. my power steering completely went out and started making a noise when i would turn it to the left. There is fluid in the reservoir and no leaks and the pump is pumping something in the reservoir. I don't know where to begin to trouble shoot the system. Has anyone else had a similar problem. Any ideas?

Can the pump get weak - causing wander? Or is that only linkage (tie rod, pitman arm, drag link, etc,) related?
I've noticed some wander at the same time my brake booster (aka-the power steering pump on a diesel) is feeling a bit squishy. Is it all related?

Hey DSL Lover, Yeah, I think so.. On my personal truck, I was having some slight wondering and squishy brake pedal. I flushed the power steering system and refilled with mobil 1 synthetic ATF, and my wondering is gone and so is my squishy brake pedal. It is super easy to do, and takes only about 15 minutes. do a search on FTE for instructions.
