just the external pick tails are bad, but i have been told by several other people, that the harness can ohm out good, but yet still break down under high voltage. and since one side does not want to seal good, i’m just gonna replace both..
and i guess, i will try to find an idm locally at the junk yard.
looking at my data , that oi published at the beginning, it appears , that my ebp is higher than my intake pressure.. im thinking of going ahead and replacing the stock downpipe, and remove the ebp valve... any thoughts on this as well ?
OK.. i replaced now the Under Valve cover harness and also replaced the picktails on the engine harness.. I had the engine harness out , inspected it and replaces the split loom covering on the harness.
Did Buzz test a couple times. IDM Failure again and #3 does only buzz very quiet.
When starting the Truck, same results as before..It starts easy but does not run right , skips, runs rough, smokes white under acceleration over 2000rpm. and does not have power... all Values, ie oil and so on are good.
Once the the Truck was warm, it straightened out and runs fine.. Tried CCT test, but it failed and gave me a Transmission range sensor not detected..
once turned off, did buzz test.. idm failure again, but all injectors fire...
NOW What
don’t know if it helps, but even with the truck warm (no visible smoke) , it burnes your eyes if you stand next to the exhaust
Pull solenoid off the #3 injector (second one back from the front, passenger side) and try to slide a feeler gauge under the Armature plate (small 1" square plate you'll see with solenoid off.)
If you can't get a .0015" feeler under there, then the injector is probably causing the issue.
If the injectors are still original to the truck, they will all be in about the same condition and can be causing you grief.
now .. thats a good info i can use, just wish i had known this last weekend). is there anything elese i can test on the injector, while i have the valve cover off AGAIN :-)
