I finally understand the heated mirror option as well. After some digging, I finally found this posting, Adding telescoping trailer tow mirrors. The part number in that posting is 7L3Z-19980-D. I found it on eBay for about $250.
So,for my truck, I should be able to use the additional options that are on the mirrors right out of the box with the exception of the heat option. For that option I need to purchase a new heater/defroster module.
You're welcome, Daryl. And thanks for refreshing my memory on the heated mirror option. JoSHN, you truck obviously has the heat/defrost module so you have heated mirrors as well. Same with my truck. If you plan on towing much with your truck, Daryl, you will want stiffer rear springs if you haven't already addressed that. That was the biggest weakness on my 06 with Trailer Tow Package. Everything else was up to snuff and the truck has performed very well pulling my 20' encolsed car trailer. Enjoy your truck.

Stiffer rear springs. I haven't experienced any issues with the springs, but I might take a look at that. Thank you for the advice.
When I dropped my loaded car trailer (6600 lbs loaded) on the hitch, the rear bumper squatted down about 3"-3.5". That was too much for my liking. My SD only dropped down 3/4". I added an overload spring setup and now my rear bumper only drops down 3/4' like my SD did. The truck handles great while towing. The first tow I made with it I ran into some very windy conditions returning home and the truck was as stable as the SD. I didn't realize that I was driving in the remnants of Huricane Ike until I had gotten home to northern Indiana and saw the 6 o'clock news. I think the handling would not have been that good if I hadn't addressed the rear springs. If your truck has the HD Payload package the rear springs should be ok for towing.
I decided to reprise my posting and update it with an additional question(s).
I'm still looking at replacing my stock mirrors with tow mirrors, but I would really like power fold. When I first starting looking into replacing my mirrors last fall, I didn't think that power fold was that big of a requirement, but I've since changed my mind.
My current mirrors are not power fold, so is it possible to add power fold? I know that regular power fold mirrors were an option on the 2008 F150's, so I'm hoping that I can obtain power fold tow mirrors and retrofit them onto my truck.
I've been hunting all over the internet for power fold tow mirrors that will fit, but I haven't found anything, so does anyone know if its even possible?
Has anyone used these? There is only a single review on the site, and the guy gave them 5 stars, so I'm thinking of giving them a try, but first I want to make one last effort at finding a set of power fold tow mirrors.
