Did uou do anything to the transmission, does the trans turn freely before installing?
We have the original 4 speed tranny that that came with the truck. After rebuilding the engine we put a new clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing in before installing.

When you say it wont turn over? you mean the starter engage, but it's trying to turn the entire engine and trany over? like you forgot to press the clutch?
Can the tranny be put in neutral? can you actually feel it going in neutral, not just the stick?
is it possible your pressure plate is backward? or the wrong one? You did not change flywheel?
I am assuming you are using the same bell housing.
yes it lugs when you try and turn it over. The transmission will go into neutral and I am assuming I have the right pressure plate, Oreilys did order the wrong pressure plate but I caught it when I picked it up and the one I put in looked exactly the same. It is possible we put it in wrong, How would I know? and yes we used the same bell housing. Thanks so much you guys on here are amazing
based on what you said and making a few assumptions, I would say you got the wrong pressure plate and it is hitting the bell housing when you tighten it.
Did you install a new clutch pilot bearing or bushing ? If so, was it seated all the way in ? If the clutch disk is new it should be marked on the side that goes towards the engine and yes they can be installed wrong real easy._____Ask me how i know.__
