Data plate

Unless I'm wrong, the data plate on a 54 F100 is supposed to be on the door rocker panel just below the drivers seat. Mine is missing. Is it legal or doable to replace it with a new one?

The data plate for my 54 is mounted on the inside of the glove box door. I know you can purchase replacement data plates from various vendors.

the plate should be inside the glove box. LMC will make you a new plate, you have to send them all the info.

It's legal to replace the data plate (located on the inside of the glove box door on 53-55, on driver's door post on 56), because it is not the LEGAL identifier for your truck. The serial # stamped on the pass side frame rail is the legal identifier. The repro plate makers will not stamp the serial # on a repro plate unless you can provide a current title to your truck. This old horse has been beaten to death the last couple months, try a search or go back thru the older topics for several days worth of reading.
