Getting a data plate from Mid-Fifties and the question I have is this:
Does someone have a picture of an original plate mounted to the glove box door that I could see so I would know how they were mounted and where on the door?? Thanks for any help! Truck is 1955 F 100--

Go to this eBay auction for a glove box lid to see where the data plate goes. This one still has the screws in it. Yours should have holes from where the screws went.

Interesting...I have never seen a slant cab glove box door that DIDN'T have screw holes. I always assumed they came from the factory with the holes drilled.

 

Thanks--I looked but the alignment of the screws seem to show the plate as being not truly rectangular. Maybe rounded under the center but the plates shown are rectangular in shape. The pic they have may be distorted--thought someone would have an original to compare. My lid had holes filled apparently. Thanks again for the reply.

 

56's where the only iffy with the data plate on the door post. Here's a picture of a data plate mounted on the glove box door.
