I bit the bullet last week and ordered an FRx from Clay. Read the instructions and seemed pretty straight forward for installation. I sprayed down the two plugs on the head with some pb blaster the day before and day of installation. The plug on the drivers head broke free easily. The passenger head plug?....not so much. For an period of time there was much yelling and a few choice words. After making some room by moving the AC compressor, a wire loom, and locating a pipe plug socket, we got the plug out. Finally got the fittings installed and hoses hooked up. Checked everything over and fired the truck up. First observation was less cackle like many have noted on here. I haven't really driven the truck much yet but i'm sure i'll notice it more as soon as I take a trip somewhere. Definitely would like to thank Andrew, jkidd_39. Couldn't have done it without all of his help. I would have gave up and threw the parts across the shop if he wasn't there.
P.S. Hey Clay, throw one of those pipe plug sockets in with the FRx package. They are darn near impossible to track down and make the job so much easier
I am very happy with my FRx and HPx from Clay. When I did mine I just used an 11/32 box end wrench and it fit nicely! I didnt really notice much less injector noise until I paired the FRx with the hutch mod and that made all the difference!
I just installed cameeks Frx for him while we were rebuilding the top end of it motor. I found that the passenger head plug was ridiculously easy to get out if we removed the HPOP resevoir. We were rebuilding the top end, so it was easy at the time....
The truck definitely had more huevos and ran quiter with the 60 psi spring.
