Cant find specific answer through a search so here goes. Can a guy with no emissions in his state cut the exhaust right in front of the cat and turn the pipe down and call it good to help open things up. Also, where could a guy find a 3.5" pipe that turns down? Thanks for any help from anyone that has done this and if you have had any issues.
You need to check with your local laws, but in Arkansas, as with many states, turbos are considered mufflers, and you can run without additional noise reduction.
As for the pipe. I would hit up a local exhaust shop.
You prob can, but making the pipe that short I would think would make it annoying to drive. Mines straight piped, but I have it all the way to tip, and its still kind of loud.
Mine has nothing from the turbo to the tailpipe behind the rear tire. It is loud but not terribly so cruising down the road. Under my heavy right foot it does wake the neighbors. You should at least get the outlet behind the passenger compartment. just for safety's sake.
Soot: A member here did something similar and the whole undercarriage is buried in soot. Noise: The sound exiting under the truck will resonate something fierce at specific RPMs, effectively turning the whole truck into a speaker cone... that's heard best in the cab.
Riffraff sells a muffler delete pipe, but you have to buy the band clamps separately.

Don't do it like that. No good at all would come from it. Besides, that sounds like a dodge mod. just sayin.
get a muffler delete pipe, and keep your muffler for "just in case" if you sell the truck, or if they suddenly want to start requiring emissions testing in your area...
I just put an exhaust on my truck it's an 03 and to my suprise it didn't even have a cat. The truck was bought brand new by my grandfather and he never did a thing to it. Did some trucks come with out cats? I live in NY and a's of right now I don't have to pass emissions but they are trying to change it.
