Hey guys/gals, right now on my 93 F-150 w/302 I have a rigged up exhaust and need to fix it lol.
It has no cats, and I Y'd the 2.25" downpipes into a Single 3" pipe that runs thru a 3"In/Out Flowmaster. Right now, its dumped right under the cab, so needless to say its loud.
My question is, will it hurt any if I run the 3" pipe all the way back to behind the wheel, and maybe put a 4" Tip on it? (lol)
Might actually be better for the truck since it's not sitting in all those exhaust fumes from the cab back. I wouldn't go with a 4" tip though, that seems a little excessive. Maybe a 3-1/2" but I wouldn't go bigger than that.
Reduce above pipe area by 8% to 10% as pipe is measured in OD and exhaust gas is thru the pipe ID. Unless the motor fires cylinders simultaneously from both banks (not going to happen) the double pipe area dosen't apply, this was from Burns Stainless who build all out exhausts from headers to tips, Indy to Formula 1 motors, $2,000 headers up. I think they know exhausts.
On turn downs under the truck you have to be mad at yourself as any long trip you'll want to get away from the truck, do I hear noise fatigue?
