CHEEZIT.....LOOK

Me again dude. So i gotta f650 6.0 same thing as what were used to,just bigger. Bigger ficm, turbo exc.... Anyway,so this one was skippin. I hooked to it and 3,5 and 7 are bad. Replaced em and fixed the issue. Happy customer until today. He called back and complained about the truck running even when turning the key to the off postion! What the hell? Im here now checkin fuses and makin sure i didnt leave somthin unplugged or somthin.nothing outta the ordinary. the truck runs great, but when u turn the key to the off position the truck still runs for about 30 seconds then shuts down. There is no throttel response when the key is off. Key on,runs perfect. Any ideas?

Did a little searching for you and found it's a common problem. Most common fix was pull the wires (tapes them up or whatever) at the back of the alt and crank truck on the batteries to see if alt is bad. Apparently it can fail is such a way that it backfeeds the electrical system. Next was mud/water in the main wiring harness connection at the firewall behind the fuse box two bolts hold the harness in place at the connector and many aren't sealed well, and one fix was a bad relay on the passenger side floor board just under the top edge of the carpet/mat. Lots of relay pulling and fiddling with the ingnition switch with no help.

Almost sounds like a turbo timer, mine is hidden under the dash and when you press the brake it kills the motor to prevent theft

That was my first thought "maybe it's supposed to do that". But there are lots of hits online for this problem on the F-650.

Great Peaches! And one GIANT one right by the highway! I used to go through there often on my way to Huntsville. Clanton, Jemison (sp?), Calera. Appreciate the help offer, Im ok with a wrench but mostly muscle car stuff, still learning diesel truck stuff but with the help of these folks here at FTE I've crammed alot about the 6.0 in the last couple years, still got alot to learn. Can't help on the moonvisor Lol, Maybe Craigslist?
