I hear ya - I consider myself EXTREMELY fortunate to have found this 6.0L forum in 2005!

You should be able to add 2 extra sensors
to the Edge. That may be how you have to do it.

Mine is pretty old. I'll have to call Edge and see if I have options.

Well I spoke with Edge. It appears I'm hosed. Juice version I have reads boost at the MAP sensor only. He suggested a trade in for a Insight CS or CTS monitor, but that would require a different pyro probe (in addition to $250-300) and it plugs into the OBDII port. My OBDII is busy with my ScanGaugeII (man, I wish you could see more than 4 gauges at a time!). Looks like I'm stuck unless somebody else has an idea.

The smart phone OBD2 wifi tool
would do the trick. They even had one for the iPhone
and they both let you add on extra guages.
Right now I don't recall all the names for the
makers of the APPs.
Someone will chime in with the names.

And just not use the SGII?

I have a call in to Matt to see if he can "program around" the MAP sensor issue. I don't understand why hooking the Edge up to the MAP sensor with the Edge on "stock" would cause any problems. The stock program is not trying to "fool" anything.

Have you been able to measure the boost since mothballing the Edge and is your SCT with tunes from Matt and Larz working as advertised now?

Nope and nope. I'm working on the boost issue but haven't heard back from Matt and company, but they may take Friday off. You have to keep in mind that I've been running the Edge as wide open as it will go for 4-5 years. My expectations may be too high, but I'm not impressed so far. Maybe somebody else who has had both can tell me if what I'm getting is normal or is there still something holding the SCT back? I saw someone else describe the SCT power as "unreal". Mine, so far, is very mild compared to what I'm used to.

That would be Dashboss for apple products.

You can add external fuel, oil pressure EGT sensors and more.

It does. That's how I'm monitoring it for now, and that may have to be permanent. After all I've done to the truck this year, I'm not paying another $500 (or so) on getting my boost back up on the dash.

Dieselvol,
I am running the SCT with tunes from Matt, that is the reason for asking. I can't speak to the Edge necessarily as I have no experience with it.
I do know the custom tunes I got from Matt really woke up my non studded truck to the point that I'm maybe a little concerned that it may be too much. Matt wrote the tunes knowing that my truck was otherwise stock except for the blue spring update. The SRL really added quite a lot of power in my estimation; I've also backed it off to the 8K tow tune and had my trailer for a short trip under 300 miles and it was still way better than stock. I put it back to the SRL tune right after I got back; I've noticed that the truck runs cooler, has more power and shifts way better than it did when stock.

Hopefully they are just taking Friday off, maybe to do some racing, I think there is a NHRDA sanctioned event this weekend.

Please keep us posted, I'm interested in your results, I'm sure Matt and Larz will come through.

-Mark

Remove the edge completely imo. What tunes from Matt did you go with?

I was afraid I might need to clarify my position: I think Matt can write a tune to blow my studded heads off. I've heard nothing but good reports on them. Larz was emailing with me until 10 pm last night and we're in the same time zone. I have no doubt except whether my expectations are too high. You might think my truck is a rocket, but so far, I think something else besides that MAP sensor issue is amiss. I'm confident it will all get fixed.

That may prove to be the answer, but then my pyro will be gone too. I got the SRL+ for studs (which is what is running), the 8k tow, and the unlimited tow. Haven't tried the other two.
