Remove the edge completely imo. What tunes from Matt did you go with?
I removed the Edge. The response is significantly better, though no one seems to be able to tell me why. There does seems to be less "seat of the pants" effect than the Edge had, but for the transmission safety issue, I can live with it. Matt is supposed to be introducing a new "hotter" tune than I think I'll be looking at when it comes out. Now my problem is I have no EGT monitor. That can't last long as I won't tow until I can monitor EGTs. Anybody got a NON-OBDII way to monitor EGTs that will leave my SGII alone? Also, I'd like to use the same EGT probe, if possible, but I realize it likely won't be.
Your egt will be hot. Trust me. It is normal with those tunes. The srl extreme is his new tune iirc. I have run it and it moves out. I ran a 14.4 at the track with the SRL Extreme tune.
Dieselvol,
I am running the SCT with tunes from Matt, that is the reason for asking. I can't speak to the Edge necessarily as I have no experience with it.
I do know the custom tunes I got from Matt really woke up my non studded truck to the point that I'm maybe a little concerned that it may be too much. Matt wrote the tunes knowing that my truck was otherwise stock except for the blue spring update. The SRL really added quite a lot of power in my estimation; I've also backed it off to the 8K tow tune and had my trailer for a short trip under 300 miles and it was still way better than stock. I put it back to the SRL tune right after I got back; I've noticed that the truck runs cooler, has more power and shifts way better than it did when stock.
Hopefully they are just taking Friday off, maybe to do some racing, I think there is a NHRDA sanctioned event this weekend.
Please keep us posted, I'm interested in your results, I'm sure Matt and Larz will come through.

Matt and Larz came through. We went through the weekend back and forth with ideas. Tonight, he sent me a new SRL+ file and brother, it rocks! Not sure what was wrong at first, but the replacement has no problems. Now the issue is the Edge that has been removed, likely for no reason, in attempt to get the original file to work like its replacement does. In my opinion, the Edge set on zero should just be a pass through that allows me to monitor EGTs and boost the way I always have. Anyone else have an opinion?
Yeah, I've since read up on it and the Insight would work well and obviate the SGII. What I prefer to do, however, is to hook my Edge back up and just use it as a monitor. Since we now KNOW that the first file had some sort of error, we have absolutely no evidence that the Edge was affecting the SCT in any way.
Dieselvol,
That's great news that the tunes are running correctly now. I am glad to hear that.
I don't have experience with the Edge products, sorry. I use the SGII and installed a seperate pyrometer with a trans gauge in a pod on the pillar, since I do also tow quite a bit and wanted positive data to monitor those temperatures; I dont trust the glorified idiot light/gauge Ford provided. I mainly monitor FICM main and logic power, then EOT and EWT with the SGII.
Glad it's working out (for the most part). Good luck in solving the pyrometer challenge.
I've reinstalled the Edge Juice, complete with MAP sensor tap for boost monitoring. I called Edge and they said that, set on zero, the Attitude monitor should work just fine while not allowing the Juice to interfere with the SCT. There seems to be no real difference in performance since the reinstall, but I will continue to assess that over the next few days. Oddly, after my first fillup after installing the SCT (and before I reinstalled the Edge), I noticed less low end torque than before. No idea why, except that its possible that I'm a nutjob. Still, I don't get that "it's about to run out from under me" feeling that I got before I filled up. It didn't change with the Edge reinstalled. I can't believe the weight of the fuel had anything to do with, but I hope it comes back!
