Need passenger side universal joint. 86' f250 6.9L 4x4 and i've looked on places like rockauto, but i read you should get the dana joints. Not sure if you can even get those, and if it's worth the brand name, or if there are other quality replacements??? advice?
I'm using the precision ones that a greasable for the last 5k or so. No problems. Just keep em greased.
Most recommend the non greasable spicers since they are solid all the way through. You have to track down the part number for those. You can go on dana and look them up.
Sweet thanks onus. i'll shoot them an email and see where i can order at and how much we're looking at payin here. See if this fixes our little problem
If you wheel hard and break joints, get the solid ones, if not, i would highly recommend the servicable joints, especially in the front end, theyre not exactly the most fun to replace.
i aint takin this thang wheelin hard, shes gettin painted up and lifted up, but not mudded up. shes a cruiser(;
Thanks for the input hairy, i checked it out, they're about the same price, makes sense to have a serviceable joint, if it moves it should have a grease fittin... my opinion..

I totally agree you can never have enough grease fittings. Heck my tie rod boots are shot but since they have grease fitting i just keep greasing them.
I just replaced mine a few months back with sealed Dana Spicer Long Life U-joints. I like the greaseable idea, but never remember to actually grease them. Plus these were cheaper and I'm on a real limited budget right now. I figured that sealed Spicer joints will outlast greaseable cheap joints. I agree they are a real pain in the *** to change. I thought I was going to break my harbor freight 20 ton press.
