hey all, i have a 2006 f-550 sd. i am replacing the engine. i dont have a lift to raise the cab with, but i do have a overhead hoist rated at 4 tons. plus i have straps rated at 11,000 pounds each. anybody ever pull a cab this way? and anyone give me a good idea as far as lift points. any help would be great.
do a search for "my ride" by cheezit. there are pics of what to do cab on. all f250-f550 or the same for removing. note if you have a zf you will need to pull the trans
Cheezit,
Can you easily pull the engine and trans on one of the
F-series trucks or are you better off splitting them?
I know that as one the weight is getting up there.
But I don't know if there is room to do that.
thanks for the info. got the cab off and engine out yesterday. almost as fast as a lift, as soon as we figures how to hook the straps. new engine goes back in tomorrow and hopefully cab will be back in too. thanks all
