Im having some problem(s) with the starter on my 239 engine, when i turn the key nothing rly happends exept that there is a noice from the starter that i can best describe as one from a machinegun (Only not as loud as a real one)
Btw apologies For any typos and bad writing, i am swedish.
Anyhoo, so i suspected that the axle/crank had stuck in the "out" position so i lifted the car up and screwed the starter off and tried to se if there was anything i could do to fix it but it all seemed normal and even my garage buddy thought that so i put it back on and tried to start the motor hoping that the crank/axle had fixed itself during the dismantle but with the same result as before, no starting just the "machinegun" noice again.
I regret now that i dident take any photos of the starter but maby someone recognize this problem and know what the heck is wrong with the starter?
Yeah, the problem "just" happend, one day i was out drivning the car as usual and then parked it and the next day i had this problem when i tried to start it.
I dont think the teeth is in bad shape but ill take some photos soon when Im going down there again!
Glad it works and welcome to the forum! Starters can be like that. I have a mini starter. Took it off my 292 and put it back on a new 292, and it jambed up. Thunking sound like it was hitting the flywheel. Removed it, held my head just right when reinstalling, and it has worked fine ever since.
