I have NEVER had problems washing an engine THIS also
includes aircraft. It's all in the way you go about it.
Low pressure and no direct spray on electrical. Warm
engine and start right after to help dry. Also before you
even start cover things that you don't want wet and
anywhere you have electrical use some dielectric
compound in the connections before you start.
That is good for the connections even if your not
going to wash it down.

Sounds good thats what I have done low www preasure, warm first when done start , I have stayed away from critical ellec. components.I will try to cover some things. How many connections do I need to be aware of ?
I cleaned my engine last summer with a steam cleaner that my mother had, it has adjustable pressure and temp on it, hose is about 10 feet long. Works great.

Mike I an not sure on your engine. just take some time and a
mirror and look around. If you find a plug that could get wet
cover it and/or put some dielectric compound in it. The compound
goes in the plug on the pins to help keep the water away and
prevent corrosion.
The low pressure steam should work well in your case. Keep clear of electrical
you don't want to melt anything. But on any hard surfaces it will clean
very well. Just watch where it drips to.
