I posted a separate post related to turbo squeal, but still involving high EGT measurements.

When I stand back from this whole subject, I've spent quite a bit of money to reduce back pressure (MBRP) and improve air density (Banks Techni-Cooler). The engine seems more powerful, but I still have to watch the EGTs. They can exceed 1400F if I leave the truck on cruise at 70 mph going up a long grade.

Could there be any relationship between turbo problems and high EGTs?

I also have a 2005 limited 6l. And plan on towing a 30ft airstream. Did you tow much before doing all the upgrades listed in your signature? And if so, can you compare the towing experience? I'm interested to see how the temp numbers compare if you remember them. You have the truck that I hope that mine will become,. Just to convince the wife that I need those upgrades.

the high EGT's are a function of the motor working. You are putting it through it's paces going those speeds with that load on a pretty decent incline

You're EGT's are pretty much where I'd expect them honestly. The factory turbo works great, but it isn't conducive to low EGT's. The Powermax and Durastroke make more power and have lower EGT's. If you are truly concerned about it, I'd look at replacing the turbo with a better one

I watch my ECT / EOT / EGT religiously. Dragging a 7k lb boat 75 mph down I-75 in the Florida summer with truck loaded down 4 guys and gear and getting nervous when the delta passes 12 degrees. Then I think of you guys out west pulling 5% grades with TT's in 100+ degrees and realize I'm probably over-analyzing things!
