EGT's?

Just got my pyrometer installed.. What temps should I be seeing for average driving and for heavy towing?

Depends on the truck and what mods you have... keep it under 1200 and you'll be fine.

I usually see around 600 cruising at highway speeds. Towing it gets a tad hotter but not much unless I'm pulling a grade.

If you are getting high numbers or tow a lot you might want to look into a intercooler setup.

400 idle, 600 cruise. 1100 at 20 psi on a hard pull empty. I see 1250 on a hard pull with trailer. When I had a boost leak, I would idle at 600, cruise at 800 and go to 1100 at 5 psi boost (mild pull).

Like previously said alot is going to depend on what all has been done to your truck, but more importantly how you drive it. With a heavy load I can pull a hill in 5th gear around 12-1300 rpms, or I can loose about 5-10 mph go to 4th and stay around 1100. A IC is sitting in the shed, just need time to install it. Same can be said for empty too, too high of a gear will really jack up the EGT's

I always downshift to 4th when pulling up a tough grade, I like to keep the revs up and not bog the motor down...I've been thinking about an intercooler but don't know what it would cost to get one or how hard they are to install...

You can find them cheap on ebay, or sometimes on here. Same with the tubes, a little modding to make them fit but it isn't bad. The Spyder can be bought new from Ford, I think it's around $125 but I don't remeber
