I have it down to 3 Options. And I was looking for some input here.
I have done research on all 3 and all seem to be close to what I want.
With the exception of a 6 inch lift and 35s, 3 inch exh and basic intake. The rest is stock.
I just put all new injectors in (made an great improvement) And now Im in need of a new turbo. My stocker is worn out.
I want something that will help a bit with fuel eco also but most of all looking for a fast spool turbo and better low end power for hauling.
I do not have any kind of programmer on it. Maybe in the future. But not right now.
My 3 options are, 11117-BB Turbonetics. I hear the best Reviews on this turbo. Its the Stage 1. I dont believe they ever made a stage 2. But I could be wrong. It seems to flow the best but my only fall back is how quick it will spool. 1047010 BD Diesel THis one seems to have the best spool but dont offer the top end the Turbonetics does. Im leaning twards this one. Its within a few bucks of the same price also. 1047510 BD diesel Thrusher This turbo flows real good and offering lots of power. But doesnt seem to give a lot of detials on its spool up. All these turbos are within 100 bucks of each other. Whos running any of these and how did you like the install and its performance. Thanks for any useful input.
I agree with these guys on not wasting your money on any of them 3 turbos. And if you are looking for a drop in turbo and you have the cash to buy any of them 3 turbos your money would be well spent on a gtp38r. Now if money is tight just rebuild your and put a W.W. in it. Riffraff Diesel: Borg Warner Anti-Surge Compressor Wheel. That and before you go blaming the turbo for poor boost I would check your up pipes, IC boots, intake boots for leaks.
If your wanting a drop in option, get the Garrett GTP-38R and be done.

These guys really know what they're talking about.
Why the GTP-38R? Everything else you mentioned requires modifying the truck to get the turbo to fit. CSIPSD's suggestion fits with with the hardware in the truck and it's a big improvement.
BadDogKuzz nailed it. One of the most common problems on these trucks after 10-13 years is low boost. You'll find a low boost discussion on the forum every day, if not several at the same time. It's rarely the turbo.
My turn to contribute: If you bought a 1-gallon shop-vac with a 1" diameter hose and wanted more air flow, a bigger vac motor will help - but not much. That 1" diameter hose is your restriction. I have a stock turbo with stock injectors (with a tuner) and everything on my truck is 100% repaired (at least everything I could find). Click the first link in my signature to see how it can work and the other links are how I got there. That last link is the highest priority.
I have a question: How did you arrive at the conclusion the turbo was tired?

All the turbos he mentioned above are also drop in "performance" turbos... They are just not as good as the Garrett GTP-38r.
