Adding led strip for brake light

How would this wire up? And do you guys have any pics of excursions with these, maybe mounted in the crevice right under the barn doors and above the bumper. Reason I want this is because i tinted my tails and it made the brake lights a little harder to see during the day, so for safety reasons I want additional hidden lighting for the brakes. Can I just splice into the factory wiring?

tap off the trailer light wiring on the hitch.

another thing you can do is add a extra brake light in the dead space in the taillight. more lights the better i say.

i had a cheapy...lost a few leds so i took it off.

U had a 2nd 3157 bulb in the tails in that pic? Do you have any pics of the install? I'm interested in doing that. Any idea on what the brightest bulbs I can get are? Never was a fan of the led ones ay AutoZone, the leds were only on the front of the bulb so the light didn't like fill the whole inside of the housing.

Look on ebay for the led replacement bulbs. They have different ones with light out the front, and others with light out all around the bulb.
I purchased some of the clear ones to replace the back up bulbs, and now that it is finally getting dark enough outside early enough in the day I might actually be able to really try them out.

yes i did add another 3157, BUT i did not hook up the taillights. so they just come on with the brake lights/turn signals. i figured it would get more attention that way.

my old excursion but you get the idea

yes, the excursion used econoline van taillights. the early 90s had a separate amber turn signal in the top section of the housing. when they did some updates around '95 i think they got rid of the amber section and made the whole lense red/white. so the section that was used as a turn signal was capped off. i cut it out with a dremel and put a new 3157 bulb housing in and thats about it.
