Fuel Gauge Issue

I, like many EX owners, I have a stuck fuel gauge. I have 126,000 miles on it. My question is, should I wait until 150,000 to have my fuel pump replaced and then deal with the gas gauge? Also, is there a way to get to the top of the gas tank from the floor?

mine was sticking(intermittently) at 111k so i said screw it i was not going to wait for it to stop working. i had it replaced, turns out it was not the first pump/sending unit that my truck has had in its short life.

also no, you gotta drop the tank. i did not have the time or want to deal with the hassle so i brought it to a shop i trust. i bought the pump/sending unit off RockAuto Auto Parts for like $300 shipped and when it was in the shop i had all the manifold studs replaced. final combined bill was like $700. well worth it IMO.

I could be talking out my butt, but I am pretty sure you can replace just the sending unit on it, I remember reading that the one for the gas one is the same as the diesel, but the one on the diesel is riveted on and the gas one is not. I would check into it and see, that should make it a lot cheaper for you.
I found where I read it for you.
