LED third brake light.

My son has a '05 F150. I was thinking about getting him an LED center brake light for his birthday. I see alot of different brands out there. Has anybody done one and would you recommend the brand? Thanks for your input.

i'd like to know also.

Not really a fan of the stock one, and wouldnt mind getting a smoked one to go on mine. Figured it would probably look and match better.

any pics of the tails with the lights on?

the factory ones dont really bug me. i just like the idea of changing the 3rd light since its kind of gawdy and the only replacements i've found are of the LED style.

are you sure you want to get a new light? I found a vinyl sticker that says Ford on the outer edges and has big FX4 cutout in the center. it completely covers the entire assembly and you can't tell it's a sticker. looks kinda cool at night when the brakes are pressed.

found it on eBay

Also be carefull as there are posts that using a LED CHMSL can cause a cruise control malfunction...

Talking

I just installed the complete LED Hella Kit on my 2004 and it looks awsome!

It was around $250 for all three pieces (comes as a kit), but for my money it was a lot better then those ricer lights out there. No pics posted yet, but there are some good shots on the Hella web page. Install took less than 15 minutes.
