Well clearly I don't have all the abilities to talk/type haha I meant YOU have all the answers... Huhh anyway I'm going to play w the TPS a little more, I'll update if I get the sweet sweet spot
yeah.just to be clear though,as that sounded a little suspicious lol.grounding it to the alternator case will do the trick.
i tested for my water in fuel light this morning and i got no light on the dash when i stuck a wire in then of the plug that goes onto the fuel filter base and grounded it to the alt.
So I can't find a t17 torx bit that fits the bolts on the TPS bracket. I've been making a 15 and a pair of vice grips work but that has come to an end and it's just a crappy halfA way to do things.
So, does anyone know...
-where I can get a T17 bit
-where I might get replacement bolts
-if I can swap the bolts for some Allen head ones that are threaded all the way?
Not an emergency, bc I'll just do some fancy work on these to make them work, I'd just rather it be a little cleaner than my engineering.
Erratic Shifts
Bad VSS
Can cause erratic shifts and LU problems. May or may not set code 29/452 (VSS speed
sensor signal to low).
Note
VSS is located in transmission tail housing or differential.
To check VSS
1. Remove 2-wire connector end.
2. Hook DVOM meter leads to pins on sensor. It doesn't matter which way you hook
up the red or black leads.
3. Set scale to AC voltage / 0 to 40 volt scale.
4. Raise vehicle so rear wheels are off ground.
5. Start vehicle, put in 'D" and make transmission upshift. Watch meter.
6. You must see an increase in AC voltage or VSS is bad.
