ICP error

Hey guys
I have a banks six gun gauge for my pyro and boost it also has a red LED that comes up sometimes just before I start it and a ICP error message scrolls across the screen. I checked what I think is the sensor just under clays FRX block and there looks to be oil residue on the wire coming from the plug. Firstly am I looking at the right sensor, and secondly should I be getting one shipped over to replace it before I get stuck somewhere.

Info would be great.
Cheers
Josh

You're in the wrong section Josh. You've got to remember that here in the States, we've got several different diesel engines in these things, so you're better off posting down in the 7.3 section.

But, which ICP code are you getting? P1211 is common with a chip / tuner so that may just be normal. If you're seeing a P1280, then it could be a bad sensor or wiring issue. How much oil are you seeing? Just a little, or to the point it's dripping?

The ICP sensor is on the inboard, front side of your passenger head.

Thanks mate didn't realise I was in the wrong forum. First post with my iPhone. Lol. Damn technology. The one that looks wet with oil is the other sensor in your pic that is under the steel fuel line going to the fuel bowl. The ICP is dry. My six gun doesn't give a code just tells me there is a error. It did stop a couple of days ago when I pulled up at a intersection but started first go. Should I see if any codes have appeared with a scan tool to narrow it down.

Sounds like your engine oil temp sensor.

Am I the only one that immediately diagnosed the error as "Insane Clown Posse" related, by the subject line alone?

The warning light is on the Banks six-gun tuner, I have the same issue every so often, but I just cycle the key a few times and it turns off.
I just use the banks tuner for its digital pyrometer reading, have it set on stock, was told by Jody at DP tuner that it would not help to stack it with the DP.
Sorry I know this doesn't help fix your issue, but I think a good scanner is in order.

I might order one next time you are getting a shipment sent to you, but no reason to rush it.
