My 2000 limited was doing this a few years ago, it turned out to be the chip reader for the key. Took it to ford, they checked e erything, and finally found the chip reader for the key had an intermittent failure. Would do the same thing, drive fine for awhile, then go to restart, and wouldn't. Wait a few minutes or longer, then retry and would work...

It does but on the Ex its under the hood. I've found where they are just dont know which slot its in.
