I am going to be changing my IP and injectors soon. I have seen that I need a 12 point socket and a cut off wrench.

What size 12 point socket is needed and what size and how long do I make the wrench?

Not sure what the 12 point socket is for. The injectors are 6 point. I don't recall the size. For the IP. It is possible to get to all three nuts with some 9/16th combo wrenches, but It is a lot easier to do it if you make one. Here are some pix of mine.

The length is not as important as the bend and the grinding. I can get to all three nuts with this wrench without removing anything from the motor at all. It makes timing adjustments a breeze. Now is a good time to test and replace GP's too.

Good luck,

Mac.

Thanks for the reply. Could the 12 point socket be for the three bolts on the timing gear?

Also my glow plugs were changed by PO just before I bought the truck. only 10K on them!
