Coolant Bypass for A/C question...

So I have a question, I just recently bought this:
http://www.dieselsite.com/maxacassis...4-200373l.aspx
When I opened my hood I found I have this:
http://cdn3.autopartsnetwork.com/ima...1702034MTR.JPG

Is this the same damn thing that I bought? Tell me I wasted my money! lol
The part number thats on the part thats in my truck is, E69H18495AA.

Yep, I assume it was for your EX? All EX's and some later 7.3's already had the coolant bypass.

Yep. That came factory on your Ex. As well as another random assortment of vehicles:

- Rangers (Dont know if all)
- Ambulance Prep 7.3s

And also some other 7.3s, but not sure why some got it and some didnt.

IMHO, its an over-priced item anyway. You can order the OEM parts to do the same thing for about $25 new. Less if you have a parts yard near you.

Ok so what does that part actually do? Ive been wondering if my a/c system is messed up because its fine and cold driving normal or the highway. But when I get in the city and the rpms get low and a bunch of stop and go, the a/c air starts warming up.

It shuts off the coolant circulating through the heater core Wich is supposed to make the A/C colder when you have it on Max a/c.

What he^^^^ said, your issue sounds more like the symptoms of an improper air gap, quick and easy to check and fix.

My ambulance prep 99 F350 doesn't have one , but it does have a manual shut off valve. Think it might have been replaced?
