coolant flush i need help

I posted yesterday about this but i have another question. I know this is probably basic stuff but i just want to make sure i am doing everything right. Like i said in the last post i just bought an 04 F-250 6.0 turbo diesel with 112000 miles on it. it has green coolant in the resivoir and i want to flush it and put the premium gold in it. can anyone give me kind of a step by step on how to do this. I am a little confused because the ford dealership told me i only needed two gallons of the premium gold, the the owners manual says it holds 27.5 quarts obviously water and coolant together. This doesn't make sense to me, am i missing something? Im not sure if i will be able to get all of the green coolant out, if not and it mixes with the gold is that going to cause problems. Thank you for any help i can get.

you will need 3.5 gallons of the gold coolant.

yes it is the coolant resevoir.

3.5 gallons of 100% coolant added after the last DI water flush and drain. Then top off with 100% DI water. You will have a 50% solution then.

Yes that is the only way to fill the system. It should be 50/50 when you're all done.

no worries, not silly at all.

(note some folks still call it the "degauss" bottle)

Maybe somebody with more physics knowledge than me can explain how a plastic container filled with coolant can be used to eliminate magnetic fields.

Degaussing is the process of decreasing or eliminating an unwanted magnetic fields. They used this in WWII to "hide" ships from underwater mines that work off magnetic fields

A degas tank is just a reservoir tank for coolant system.

Its just a case of names that sound similar but two total different jobs. neither are related
