Problems when I'm away
I am on assignment away from home and something is wrong with my engine. I have an '06 F-250 6.0 with about 75000 miles. The other day my wife drove it to work and she said she heard something which she described as something blowing off, such as a line of some kind, maybe, anyway she said the boost pressure dropped to zero and that is where it stays. She stated before that happened when she was accelerating it sounded as though it was making a sucking sound through the intake and then this happened. The noise in the intake only sounded when she let off the gas. Not much to go on but I'm 2000 miles from home and am at a loss. Any help would be much appreciated.

I saw this post earlier but couldn't get my stupid phone to play nicely with FTE.
Anyway, Scott nailed it. Have her check the boots for the charge air cooler. The clamps have been known to break but there are also issues with oil in the boots that can cause the boots to slip or pop off. Easy fix if it's what's wrong (and it sounds like it is).
The boost drop is because of the boot(s) coming off which also explains the sucking or whooshing sound she heard.
