I plan on doing a brake job to my pick up this coming week. and I was wondering if, semi metallic pads or ceramic pads. which 1 is better than the other, and the pros and cons of either 1. any information or advice would be greatly appreciated thank you for your time.
After changing my pads to Wagner semi metallic pads and experiencing brake fad and noise I changed to Preformance Friction carbon metallic pads Carbon Metallic Brake Pads | Performance Friction superior stopping with no brake fad and no noise.
I just did my rotors and pads and I used Wagner Severe Duty semi metallic pads and they are great!
The Wagner pads I installed worked great also right up to the time I needed them during heavy braking in the mountains pulling our trailer after that everyone knew when I was coming to a stop. With the carbon metallic same mountain same trailer no problem and they are still quiet with no fad after 50K miles. I'm not sure what Wagners I had but they where the best semi-metallic they had at the time.
I don't tow in the mountains, and with my tow/haul mode it has easily helped me stop. I've had nothing but success with Wagner pads. Sorry you had such a bad experience! Gotta stick to what works for ya
