Transmission Problems!
My truck is a 2001 f-250 auto 4x4.
The trouble started on the way home from RRE.About a hour from home the trans slipped when in second gear.Then at the next stop light I had to red line the engine to get it to shift into second.then when in second it was slipping a little.After second the trans shifted just fine into drive and OD.Once back on the highway and in OD we didn't stop tell we were home.
Trans is stock and I'm sure the mechanical diode is the problem.
What do you guys think???

If I was guessing, I'd say it could be the diode. Somebody better at transmissions than I am will have to say more. How many miles on the trans and what kind of towing do you do, or hot rodding (ha). I have a 2001 and the trans went bad before the diode gave up !
