Why buy some pirated copy item when you can get the real thing?
Ford Coolant Filter System for 6.4 Powerstroke
Yes I know it a bit more but with Ebay you have a lot here today gone tomorrow
along with any warrantee.
If you look at the 2 kits all the parts are the same just the block is not blue and no logo.
And looking at the name I recall there there was some problems with that larger T
and the threads into the filter block. I could be wrong on that or they may of fixed the problem........

Good Luck let us know what you do and find out.

Awhile back PMM had problems with the Nipple on the filter head

Might be fixed Now IDK

But I Dont like any of the Filter Kits out there because they ALL reduce to the Smallest Return Line possible 5/32inch is very small thats the hole in the filter itself at the plastic

You can only filter as much as the smallest fitting will let

I made my own and Kept all Supply and Return lines 5/8inch and also drill the Plastic in the filter itself to 1/2inch for flow

The kits ALL Look better than what I have but my main goal was to filter as much as possible as fast as possible

But any coolant filter is better than nothing

and here is the return line notice its 5/8inch

Let me see if I get the path right.
You T into the heater line ahead of the
valve head off to the filter and them T hack
in at the return for (?) at the Y below the degas
bottle. Is my (?) the heater return line or the EGR?

Do you have any problem with heat in the winter ?

Thanks
Sean

Absolutely not, it's a bypass system.

Yes MUST be before the Valve so it always is filtering

If you werre to go after the valve then it would only filter when the heater is on or when the Valve is open

I have this kit (came in about 2 months ago) and they did fix the "nipple" issue as well as the "machined face" issue. However, I have decided to go with a different kit after finding this kit today;

Innovative Performance Research

This is a brand new design and from everything I have seen on the market I believe it's the best thing out there. It uses full size heater hose and not the small 3/8 stuff on all the other kits and it is a direct flow kit not a bypass type of kit (although there is still that option if you want it). It's also got a reusable stainless steel filter.... Read up on it!

I went with
2003-2007 6.0L Coolant Filtration Kit |MKM Customs

It is slightly more at $148 but comes with free shipping. Also they advertise on the site so it supports this forum. Also like previously stated Ebay is something of a buyer beware area. While it is not huge filtration like some others have since it was installed 50 miles or so after the EGR cooler and oil cooler replaced. It is flushing out a fresh system. They flushed the system as part of the install. Besides my filter has a cool logo on mine...

Interesting for shure

I dont think its worth the Money IMO shure is pretty though LOL

The way I set mine up was with Full Size heater Hose all my lines are 5/8inch

And it IS still a Bypass system cuz it comes off the Heater supply line and the heater supply line is a ByPass in itself

The Only diffrence is this new system it looses Heat when filter Plugs since it filters INLINE with the heater supply line

The way the most of us are setup is basicaly a ByPass of a ByPass and when our Filter Plugs nothing happens

To have a Coolant filter setup work 100% in these trucks the coolant filter would have to Filter everything going to the Oil Cooler

Since this new setup dont filter all coolant going to oil cooler its NOT worth the Money IMO they wanted 250.00$$ for it

Its expensive and wont filter any Better than than the rest like I said the Coolant filter would have to be right before the Oil Cooler

They do make this as well...

IPR External Oil Cooler Kit for Ford 6.0 Powerstroke

and it does have a screen/filter right before the coolant enters the oil cooler.

I saw that I thought you were just getting the Coolant filter

But if its the extenal deal and has a Filter right before the Oil Cooler that you can change plus the ease of oil cooler changes thats the TICKET Right there

I go check it out now that would be right on

all they have to do is beat BPD External Air cooled oil cooler and they will take the market on it

Sounds Great

I kinda thought this one might be a bit better than Bulletproofs.... At least for me. It gets to be as cold as -40 degrees celsius here where I live and the IPR kit at least uses coolant to warm and cool the oil cooler where as the Bulletproof kit would use cold air and a thermostat for to control the oil flow (cold weather kit). If that thermostat ever messed up it could cause a pretty ugly problem. The price on the IPR setup is also less than 1/2 what the Bulletproof deal is. I'm not knocking either kit as they both have plusses and minuses.

so to change the Oil Filter what do you do pull some bolts and pull the Cap deal with the Hoses off

I wouldnt think the Hoses would have to be undone each time

Looks Pretty Cool for shure

If you can take a Bunch of Pictures when you install it looks like a Great Problem Solver

I really like it so far best thing Iv seen yet as long as it will keep the proper Flow of oil and coolant but mainly Oil flow

ask them about oil flow its needs to flow like 19 GPM
